This blog is dedicated to Jesse and Maya's Monday morning section of Introduction to Experience Design at the Ontario College of Art and Design, Winter 2009.
#1) It is a very good concept(Best of all the four). The understanding of the toy is straightforward so there is no need of any instructions. The only thing that is unclear is the material that will be used to make this that would give the object its flexibility.
#2) Even though this is a simple and clear concept, but it seems that there is nothing much you can play around with in this. Maybe if you add abstract designs on the block, so that they can be arranged together to make a bigger design. Then there will be more options.
#3) This is a concept that involves both stress relieving and time pass. It is something that can always be in hand to play around with.
#4)This concept is bit unclear. Its hard to understand what exactly is happening.
But i would suggest to go with the first concept as it exactly goes with our understanding of fun in the class. It is compact, easy to handle and allows thought processing.
toy 1: so... it's line paper (or is it?)which you can create shape by banding and snap it. i think concept is interesting and how there are magnets to help to stick together. And can create various shape depends on where the magnets are placed. toy 2: i think this could be fun. playing with the shapes and stick together to make a act figure... hmm but how about you can make not only figure but can make other things such as dog or tree...lol Anyway i like this concept and how u interpute the magnetic. toy 3: hmm.... i don't really understood this toy...but it is something to do with playing around with shape, right? toy 4: I also like this concept too, playing with shape and you can create different structure with it. like similar to Lego. I like how you put differents shapes such as circles, rectangular, and cube. toy 5: ? (i don't see it) lol
Experience design is the practice of designing products, processes, services, events, and environments - each of which is a human experience – with the specific focus of the design activity being the quality of the user experience. In turn, the quality of any experience is a combination of factors which include individual or group needs, desires, beliefs, knowledge, skills, experiences, and perceptions. Experience design combines technological innovation with social innovation, psychology, linguistics, cognitive science, architecture and environmental design, information design, ethnography, brand management, interaction design, service design, storytelling and heuristics.
