This blog is dedicated to Jesse and Maya's Monday morning section of Introduction to Experience Design at the Ontario College of Art and Design, Winter 2009.
This is a real time for crashing a guitar. I really like the idea because it definitely fits one of the Jordan/Tiger four types of pleasure: physio-pleasure:
Physio-pleasure: it's great for sense of touch because a player would really appreciate the feeling of crashing. You may want to also adding a speaker on the neck of guitar so that it form a realistic sound every single time you smash the guitar into pieces.
It also fits Socio-pleasure if you play with other people.
Puzzle can be painted as intensive and sharp colors. It's can also be interactive with a group of people to rebuild the guitar body.
#2 wha cka man - Mr. Tough Guy
It's interesting to see how Mr. Tough Guy changed his face after by pressing the button Mr. Tough Guy is not only an action figure but also a stress-reliefer so that you can squeeze, punch, throw and even torture it. I like that idea and It totally fits the physio-pleasure again. So for improvement, you may want deconstruct the figure into parts, so that player can re-construct the figure, which means you can take away his arms, legs, and body.
#3 Crazy Fashion Rotatop
Another figure but in changing different outfit. It may be a good idea if one needs to decide what to wear today. It's nice to but it seems it does not much with interaction. For suggestion, it would be great if you can change parts of the toys, like adding more additional carts, AND/OR make another female version.
#4 Candy Machine
Not sure how it works. Is it simply just a Candy container or a decoration? Need more details and explain how it works and plays with people.
#5 Bobble Head
Not sure if it's called Bobble Head or Bubble Head...and it looks like a motive action figure but is it active when only hearing sounds?
Overall i like the guitar puzzle the most and believe it's most possible concept. I am looking forward to see the mock-up and get ready for some crashing! Good Job man!
Experience design is the practice of designing products, processes, services, events, and environments - each of which is a human experience – with the specific focus of the design activity being the quality of the user experience. In turn, the quality of any experience is a combination of factors which include individual or group needs, desires, beliefs, knowledge, skills, experiences, and perceptions. Experience design combines technological innovation with social innovation, psychology, linguistics, cognitive science, architecture and environmental design, information design, ethnography, brand management, interaction design, service design, storytelling and heuristics.
